You see that bright red hair and big smile? That’s Dr. Bobbie—someone you don’t forget easily.
Dr. Bobbie is a psychotherapist and clinical social worker, and also the Director of Child Wellbeing at SafeHavens. Her work spans visiting rural villages to speaking at national conferences, from South Asia and South America, to Africa and the U.S.
Dr. Bobbie combines clinical excellence with unwavering compassion to support those most in need and because of this, she is one of our most valued and respected staff members.
At SafeHavens, we work with local partners to build trauma-informed, culturally appropriate programs that support vulnerable children.
Dr. Bobbie plays a huge role in helping SafeHavens accomplish this mission. Most recently, she has been working in Malawi alongside our friends at the Alliance for Children Everywhere (ACE). There, she supported and trained local staff, community groups, UNICEF teams, carers, and parents—equipping them with the tools to help children heal and thrive.
By training community leaders, social workers, and parents in trauma-informed care, Dr. Bobbie is helping ensure vulnerable children are supported not just today, but for years to come.
