Education
Education is a cornerstone of personal and societal development, serving as a powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty and foster equality.

The Neighborhood Library Project
Education is a key factor in driving development and improving quality of life, yet many areas of Nepal, especially the southern province of Madhesh, face significant educational challenges.
With the lowest literacy rate in the country (49.5%) and limited access to books, libraries, and digital resources, students in the Madhesh region struggle to enhance their learning, particularly in English. This gap in education affects their learning outcomes, critical thinking, as well as their ability to pursue opportunities abroad, as many students are underprepared to qualify for scholarships and admissions.
The Neighborhood Library Project aims to address these issues by creating a multi-purpose space that will serve as a hub for students and young adults to learn, engage, and grow. By transforming the existing library into a vibrant learning center, and providing access to computers, books, and other resources, the project hopes to inspire a culture of learning and offer the community valuable educational support.
Long-term goals include expanding the library’s resources and services, and connecting it to the local government to ensure sustainable development.
