Update on Safe Drinking Water Project

A new Safe Drinking Water Project is underway at the Rara Human & Environmental Resource Development Initiative (RHERI) hostel, helping to provide children and staff with a clean and reliable source of drinking water.
With support from Latter-day Saint Charities, the project includes the construction of a deep tube well, water filtration and purification, and improvements to sanitation facilities.
The project was officially inaugurated on 12 July 2026, and work is now well underway. Drilling has progressed beyond 100 feet, with iron pipes being installed to support the borehole as the team works towards reaching the required depth of 150 feet.
Every step brings RHERI closer to a more reliable supply of safe drinking water, something that will make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of the children and staff who call the hostel home.
